Acceptance

By using AutoMath, you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please stop using the site.

What AutoMath is

AutoMath is a free, browser-based educational tool that helps you reason about personal-finance decisions. The calculators implement well-known formulas (the 4% rule, compound interest, etc.) and let you plug in your own assumptions.

What AutoMath is not

  • It is not financial advice. The output is a function of your inputs and standard assumptions, both of which can be wrong. Markets are uncertain, your circumstances are unique, and back-of-the-envelope math doesn’t substitute for a real plan.
  • It is not a regulated financial service. We are not a registered investment advisor, broker, or fiduciary.
  • It is not a guarantee of outcomes. Historical returns don’t predict future returns.

Use at your own risk

You are solely responsible for any financial decisions you make based on the output of AutoMath. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoMath, its operator, contributors, and affiliates disclaim all liability for losses, missed opportunities, or other damages arising from your use of the site.

If a major financial decision rides on the math, please talk to a fiduciary financial advisor.

Intellectual property

The calculators, code, copy, and design of AutoMath are owned by the operator. You’re welcome to share links and brief excerpts (with attribution). Wholesale copying of the calculators, branding, or content is not permitted.

Affiliate disclosures

Some links on AutoMath are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up with a partner through them. These links are clearly labeled Sponsored and use rel="sponsored nofollow". The presence of an affiliate relationship does not influence our editorial choices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
